Course Overview
Esports is highly entertaining, team-based, competitive video gaming designed to draw a spectator audience—both in-person and via livestreams around the world. From leadership to coordination, communication, and cooperation, esports can offer students in K–12 learning environments the opportunity to learn vital life skills while also potentially setting them on the road to STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) careers. While esports started out in colleges around the world, its popularity today is growing in worldwide K–12 education, with more clubs and teams forming each year.
