Program Overview

The Open Network Edge Services Software (OpenNESS) toolkit is designed to foster open collaboration and application innovation at the network and enterprise edge. OpenNESS is an open-source reference toolkit that enables the ecosystem to create and deploy new edge applications and services. This training program is designed to help developers quickly integrate OpenNESS and engage with a worldwide ecosystem of hardware, software and solutions integrators to develop new 5G and edge use cases and services.

This course provides and introduction to OpenNESS and a brief review of edge computing concepts to put OpenNESS in context and provide a foundation for future training.

This course covers how the OpenNESS toolkit can be used to deploy edge services, targeted at system operators and software developers. We recommend watching the OpenNESS course “Introduction” prior to taking this course.

This course covers the components and microservice architecture of the OpenNESS toolkit. It also covers the controller and edge platform APIs. We recommend watching the OpenNESS courses “Introduction” and “Concepts and Use-Cases” prior to taking this course.

This course shows how an application is deployed on the Open Network Edge Services Software (OpenNESS) platform interacting with the OpenNESS controller. We recommend watching the OpenNESS courses “Introduction”, “Concepts and Use-Cases” and “Architecture” prior to taking this course.

This course presents a walkthrough of the source code of a sample application in Open Network Edge Services Software (OpenNESS). We recommend watching the OpenNESS courses “Introduction”, “Concepts and Use-Cases”, “Architecture” and “Application Deployment” prior to taking this course.
