Program Overview

Storage developers face challenges when integrating solid-state drives, faster network infrastructure, and the latest processor technology. Performance and cost optimization requires careful consideration and an understanding of the underlying hardware and software. This program provides an overview of Intel Storage Software as well as a series of deep dives into different components of SPDK, ISA-L providing hands-on installation and set up as well as testing and performance measurement modules.

Intel’s Jonathan Stern, Storage Applications Engineer, and Jim Harris, Storage Software Architect, discuss the Storage Performance Development Kit (SPDK) covering how it got started, SPDK benefits, protocol support and future developments.

In this course, John Kariuki, Storage Applications Engineer, provides an overview of the Storage Performance Development Kit, covering the problem that it addresses, licensing, H/W and OS Support.

This course explains the ways organizations use SPDK to accelerate their application access to local and remote storage and serve optimized block storage to Virtual Machines. You will gain a deeper understanding of the capabilities provided by the SPDK stack. Lastly, key concepts central to building an asynchronous polled I/O application are discussed.
