Intel RSD: future-oriented data center design
Intel® RSD aims to flexibly configure compute, storage, and network resources in one rack (or multiple) and manage the deployment of large-scale racks. With 99Cloud's Animbus® Pod Management components, you can visually manage each node in the data center, and use virtualization, physical machine deployment and configuration based on OpenStack technology. When the physical resource in one rack is used, a group of compute nodes or a group of storage nodes can be flexibly configured according to the requirement of the existing service. The Animbus® Pod Manager can manage all racks, and deploy them into an application or platform that meets the service requirements, such as an OpenStack-based private cloud platform, a VMware-based virtual platform, or a Docker-based application release platform.
Animbus® Cloud platform
99Cloud's Animbus® Cloud OS takes the most influential data center cloud computing software, OpenStack, as a core with more development and function optimization based on the management modules provided by OpenStack. Animbus® is compatible with heterogeneous virtualization software, server, storage and network devices. It is easy to expand, with high availability and flexibility, providing a one-stop platform solution to the enterprise-level cloud computing management platform.
Animbus® OpenStack Compute, compatible with the OpenStack Ocata version, supports industry-leading virtualization software such as KVM, LXC, QEMU, UML, VMware vSphere, Xen, XenServer, and Hyper-V. The functions of different virtualization software are different. The user can configure multiple virtual machine software applications on one platform and can build the virtual machine on different virtualization back ends through the nova dispatching strategy. Intel® RSD Simulation Environment
Different hardware configurations and software combinations will dramatically affect the performance of the whole operating environment. In this pilot, Ceph is used as the storage, which can be expanded horizontally. The management of the platform and the infrastructure utilizes 99Cloud's cloud platform, a cloud platform management software based on OpenStack technology and can dynamically map the correlation of the software and hardware.
Since the service application is ever changing, the dynamic configuration of Intel RSD provides an optimal solution. For example, for a compute-intensive application, we can add more compute nodes into an Intel RSD compliant cabinet. For a storage-intensive application, we can add more storage resources to the cabinet. And in addition to the requirement on the application performance, the infrastructure will also realize the benefits of automatic deployment and configuration, so that the cloud becomes more intelligent.
For the system that is running, we hope that the capacity and performance of the platform can be linearly increased through the minimum expenditure and the lowest risk. Intel RSD can meet this requirement and with the 99Cloud Animbus® management platform, the administrator can allocate different hardware into the needed environment directly through the interface.
