This month, Supermicro launched the new generation X11 architecture portfolio of server and motherboard solutions following the introduction of the latest Intel® technology. The company’s new generation X11 architecture leverages Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors to deliver exceptional performance, I/O, memory and storage advancements to the data center. The latest processors include up to 28 cores per CPU, PCI Express 3.0 x 48 lanes, 6x DDR4 channels and Rebalanced Cache Hierarchy with higher amounts of ‘fast cache’ for advanced data processing, multi-tenancy for virtualized applications, 14nm Process Technology and 3x Intel UPI for better inter-CPU communication.

Supermicro’s first to market motherboard technology has been expertly designed by the team of in-house engineers to offer the highest levels of performance, efficiency, security and scalability in the industry. New generation X11 architecture includes up to 3TB DDR4 2666MHz in 24 DIMM slots per node, 7 PCI-E slots, SAS 3.0/SATA 3.0/NVMe hot-swap HDD/SDD support, integrated Intel® Omni-Path fabric , SATA Disk-on-Module (DOM), and IPMI 2.0 plus KVM with dedicated LAN.
The portfolio of SuperServer®, SuperWorkstation, SuperStorage, and SuperBlade® solutions housing the motherboards benefit from Supermicro’s first-to-market initiative in supporting the latest Intel Xeon Scalable processors.
