A pair of AI technology leaders will be among the key presenters at the Global Artificial Intelligence & Robotics Summit July 12-14 in Shenzhen. The Summit is one of China’s top exhibition and communication conferences for academia and industry. Two companies – SENSCAPE, a leading creator of embedded AI sensing platforms, and JianPei Tech, a medical artificial intelligence developer – will be among the global AI experts demonstrating how to put AI to work with real-world implementations.
SENSCAPE Technologies will demonstrate its Horned Sungem AI camera as part of the company’s novel edge computing development platform; it uses the Intel® Movidius™ Myriad™ 2 Vision Processing Unit (VPU) to unify individual solutions between edge computing devices, applications and services to optimize overall cost and performance of edge-AI devices.
JianPei Tech will show how its reading robots are built using AI algorithms and deep learning techniques to enable intelligent diagnosis of medical imaging diseases in a qualitative, localized, and quantitative manner. By optimizing for Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors, JianPei Tech has dramatically reduced the time required for radiologists to complete diagnostics and increased diagnostic efficiency and accuracy.
SENSCAPE Demo: Horned Sungem AI Camera & Computing Platform
Countless intelligent new devices are emerging in the Internet of Things (IoT), responsible for collecting data from sensors and rapidly interconnecting multiple devices. Making use of this information usually requires real-time processing of large, complex volumes of data – but it also renders the cloud computing technologies that do the work vulnerable to bottlenecks.
SENSCAPE is developing solutions that help analyze data from many sources, making edge devices smarter and creating large-scale AI applications and ecosystems. One such application, facial recognition technology, provides powerful advantages for public safety, surveillance, and monitoring. The 2nd-generation intelligent camera from SENSCAPE uses an Intel Movidius Myriad 2 VPU to process up to four channels of real-time 1080p video locally, improving the performance of its platform. SENSCAPE will demonstrate the higher accuracy and improved performance achieved after integrating the VPU into its SV S8000 smart surveillance solution and using custom ResNet100 topology with the Intel® Movidius™ Software Developer Kit (SDK).
Built on the low-power, high performance Intel Movidius Myriad 2 technology, SENSCAPE moves video structuring from the back-end server to the front-end. Consuming only 15W of power, support for more than 40 customer attributes, such as object classification, can be displayed in real-time or passed to the back-end for big data analysis.
SENSCAPE’s Horned Sungem AI camera allows users to develop and quickly implement their own AI algorithms; in addition, the kit comes preloaded with an array of AI algorithms such as face detection, facial recognition, and object classification. This technology can be widely used in finance, retail, education, security and other industries.
JianPei Tech Demo: Medical Reader Diagnostics
Imaging makes up a large portion of medical data, both in China and around the world; as each patient scan requires analysis and diagnosis there is a lack of human resources to keep up with the stream of images. Current computer-aided analysis lacks accuracy while and still requiring manual review. JianPei Technology has stepped up to this challenge with their innovative medical diagnostic system: an image analysis robot built on advanced AI algorithms and deep learning technologies.
JianPei Tech migrated their platform to Intel Xeon Scalable processors; it also leverages the Intel® Optimization for TensorFlow* and Intel® Math Kernel Library for Deep Neural Networks (Intel® MKL-DNN) to help improve performance on image data processing. These optimizations have reduced the time needed to complete radiologist diagnoses and increased diagnostic accuracy for inferencing of X-ray, CT, MRI and other medical imaging sources.
Assisting doctors in locating diseases, analyzing conditions, and guiding operations, the image reading robot is part of a clinical decision-making system at the frontier of medical science and medical technology development and its impact can advance precision medicine greatly in China.
