Cortexica’s Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) solution combines real-time video analysis with advanced algorithms and machine learning. The demo shows off AI by using computer vision to detect people and determine whether they are wearing both a helmet and a high-visibility jacket. The demo consists of 2 modules: one that continuously monitors a work area to signal non-compliant or missing equipment, the other restricts access until a person is properly equipped. Stop by, put on a helmet and jacket, and see the solution in action on Intel® architecture using Intel® Distribution of OpenVINO™ toolkit and running on an edge device.
HCL Technologies is applying AI in medical imaging to improve chest X-ray analysis and disease identification. HCL is utilizing Intel® Xeon® Scalable Processors with INT8 to detect 14 different classes of diseases using customized, deep-learning algorithms on chest X-rays. The HCL optimization model applies separable convolution and image augmentation using Intel® Distribution of OpenVINO™ toolkit. Using Intel architecture, HCL provides significant performance gains and an optimized model footprint. Proportunity is helping consumers identify better homes and areas of rapid price growth in real estate values. The model, which is based on AlexNet, accurately predicts the growth of property prices and identifies areas of real estate growth across the UK. Utilizing the Intel architecture enables Proportunity to quickly process large volumes of data collected since the 1990s, in order to predict pricing trends. The highly scalable and performant compute power delivered by Intel® Xeon® Scalable Processors, combined with Intel® Optimization for TensorFlow*, has allowed Proportunity to noticeably improve the latency and accuracy of its model inferencing process. Resonate’s Luminate Digital Platform uses artificial intelligence to predict delays on the rail network so traffic managers can intervene by rerouting trains. The platform, which uses the Intel® Xeon® Scalable Processor, has been trained using 10 years of historical data so it can recognize patterns that lead to disruption. AI algorithms analyze rail traffic—from the trackside to the control center—giving traffic managers end-to-end visibility of the entire route for the first time ever. This enables them to intervene when needed, improving passenger satisfaction in the process.
Valtech will demonstrate its prototype that shows how AI recognizes human behavior in retail stores. This solution for integrated location, face, and apparel tracking in real time ties customer data (e.g., location, face metadata, and apparel metadata) in the floor area around a point-of-sale or digital signage, allowing for behavioral insights, experimentation, and validation of customer engagement. The initial prototypes used Intel® Movidius™ Vision Processing Units to enable deep learning across video streams. With Intel’s assistance, Valtech subsequently joined prototypes together to enable store-location tracking, clothing detection and gender/sentiment assessment. Verbio will demonstrate how its virtual assistant leads retail customers through a shopping dialogue, generating questions in order to profile users’ preferences and suggest the best options in the catalog. At the end of the dialogue, users can decide to buy the products online or in the store, or ask to get in touch with a sales assistant. This same experience can be replicated on different devices, creating an omni-channel, personalized interaction with customers, saving preferences and learning and extracting insights from conversations. Intel architecture has enabled Verbio to drastically reduce the latency of its VoiceTech when using 5G to leverage Intel’s edge capabilities.
