Artificial Intelligence has the opportunity to solve some of the world’s most challenging problems and can reshape business and society in countless ways.
On August 8, 2018, Intel brought its flagship event– Intel® AI DevCon, a conference focused on training data scientists, highlighting cutting edge research and the discussing the future of AI–to Bangalore, India. The conference featured the latest in AI technology offerings, featuring deep dive technical sessions, demos and key use cases by local partners and AI practitioners that demonstrate the power of Intel AI technology. The conference offered opportunities to network and be inspired, to meet AI developers, to hear new perspectives, and to gain insights from experts in data science, machine learning, deep learning, and more.
Gadi Singer, Vice President & Architecture General Manager, Artificial Intelligence Products Group at Intel opened the conference with a keynote on Breakthrough Theory, AI in Action, where he spoke about the limitless applications of AI across all industries and highlighted Intel® AI Builders partners Arya.ai and Wipro. Did you know that India has the 3rd largest startup ecosystem in the world, with over 400 startups in AI alone? To watch Gadi’s full keynote, click here.

The event was a great success with a turnout of over 500+ attendees. It was exciting to bring together data scientists, deep learning engineers, machine learning engineers, AI application developers, researchers, and start-up technologists at the forefront of AI and ML in an immersive environment that showcased the possibility of AI. In-depth technical tracks, hands-on labs, and poster presentations created a space to explore the latest techniques to optimize and accelerate neural network development, deep learning training, and inference applications, and hear about advances in security, natural voice, smart home, satellite and high-content visual imagery, cryptocurrency, ethics, storage, and more.
Multiple Intel® AI Builders partners attended, including Raghu Sesha Iyengar, Director of Engineering at Mobiliya who commented, “The variety of hardware showcased at AIDC was an eye opener which gives a snapshot of the future of Deep Learning. The roadmap of software support from Intel for its various hardware promise an easy and seamless integration. The event and its positive response shows the major role Intel will play in the future.” and Ramakrishna Potti, General Manager of Holmes Platform Engineering at Wipro who reflected, “While I wasn’t sure what was in store for ‘Lightening Session with AI Startups’, my patience was well rewarded by possibilities & enthusiasm the startups presented. It was truly amazing to see the action as the startups faced some real hard questions from the audience. This gave me a taste of what happens in the startup eco-system.”
